Chapel Point
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. Barracks that were used during the war. They are clearly visible and accessible.
Post Office Building
Fraser Ave. Sydney Mines. Built in 1904, it is noted for it's architectural design. Restored in 1989, now houses CBRM.
Miner's Memorial Monument
Pitt St. Sydney Mines. Erected to remember the miners who died in the mines. June 11 is Davis Day, observed in communities where there were mines.
McCormick House
Main St. Sydney Mines. Served as an office for the GMA.
Annandale House
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. A Queen Anne home built by Louis Johnston in the early 1880's.
Gowrie House
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. Built in 1834.
North Sydney Historical Museum
Rear Commercial St., water front entrance. Wilfred Oram Centennial Library Bldg. Opens June 2.
Hours : Mon. - Fri. : 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Sat. : Noon - 5:00 pm.
Prince of Wales Monument
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. Marks the spot where the Prince of Wales landed at Sydney Mines in 1860. Park area with benches overlooking the Sydney Harbour.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 19 Cenotaph
Archibald Ave. North Sydney. Memorial to honor those who served.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 Cenotaph
Main St. Sydney Mines. Memorial to honor those who served.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 83 Cenotaph
Main St. Florence. Memorial to honor those who served.
MacMillan House
Station St. North Sydney. The area's first railway station, is a fine example of ornate Victorian architecture.

Churches
Many of the area's churches were built at the turn of the century. Their interiors feature rich hand crafted woods and stained glass windows. See the directory in the Service Organizations menu on the main page for phone numbers.

Dockside Ceilidh Outdoor Theatre
Marine Atlantic Terminal. Daily entertainment for passengers and the general public. Check times at the terminal.
Seaview Golf and Country Club
Seaview Dr. Fantastic 18 hole course, magnificent view, pro shop, cart rentals, and full club facilities. Visitors welcome. OPEN : May - October.

Marine Atlantic Day Cruises

Seaview Dr. North Sydney. Go Carts, waterslides, miniput, driving range, batting cage and other activities.

Scenic Routes

Scenic Shore Drive Rt. 305
A leisurely harbourside drive looping Route 305 to Hwys. 105 and 125. Featured along the route are beaches, recreation and culture centres, parks, waterfront boardwalks, Victorian Era homes, and shopping areas.
Bras d'Or Scenic Drive
Roads and routes that circum the entire shoreline of the Bras d'Or Lakes. Because it is a circular route, it can be joined at a number of points around the Island including the 105 at Bras d'Or and Johnston Road at Exit 2 on the 125.
